Obituaries Australia was launched by ANU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ian Young, on 14 April 2011. The website is a companion to the National Centre of Biography’s Australian Dictionary of Biography and seeks to capture every published obituary of an Australian. The obituaries have been extensively indexed and linked to digitised resources held in the major cultural institutions.

The public is encouraged to assist us in our project by sending us scanned copies of obituaries (that are out of copyright) and may also be able to assist with indexing the obituaries. For further information contact us at ncb@anu.edu.au
